3D Hand Art

Your 3D Hand
This idea was shared through a homeschool network...I looked at it, knew we had to try it, and now  can not locate the site.  Thank you to the creator of this FUN, QUICK, CLEVER, 3D ART PROJECT and to the mom who passed it forward!!
25 minutes to a 3D HAND!
Supplies:
Tag board (thicker paper), Pencil, Ruler (or a straight eye!),
Sharpie permanent markers, thick colorful markers, a hand!
How To...
1.  Trace your hand with a pencil
2.  Pencil horizontal lines (like shown) by arcing all the lines in the hand - trying to be equidistant.
3.  Make ruler-straight, horizontal lines around the hand to the paper's edge.
4.  Use a Sharpie to trace these pencil lines, but NOT the hand's outline! (marker will cover it up)
5.  Create a repeating pattern, beginning at the bottom of the paper, using as many colors as you desire!
Julia went with a green-pink-blue pattern!

Watercolor Sparkle Art

Paint Glue + Salt = Sparkle Art
The extra Gel glue from our Batik Art Project (earlier post) was used to create some lively art pieces!  The glue causes the paint to move and blend colors while the salt adds texture and sparkle.  Ages 4 to 104 can have fun with this!
6 ingredients, 3 steps
Supplies:
Water color paper or canvas, watercolor paints, water,
paint brushes, Elmer's Gel glue, salt
1.  Paint!
2.  Glue!
Paint should be quiet wet when applying glue.
3.  Sprinkle
Try different salt grains for varying effects!
A quick, easy, dazzling project.
Perfect to do outside on a summer day!

Batik Gel Glue Art

Scarves in the Making
Try this technique on canvas bags, pillow cases, aprons...there are many options!  We opted for squares of fabric which can be used as scarves for the dogs or napkins for us.
Phebea and Ruby model our creations!
Supplies:
Gel glue, Glad Bags or plastic liners (glue and paint will seep through fabric, so cover your work surface), Acrylic Paints and Brushes, Fabric item to decorate,
other decorations of your choice, Creativity
Set up with Glad bags under the fabric, like this...
Create designs with Gel glue.  We were in flowery moods!
Remember, where there is glue now, white or base fabric color will appear later.
Let glue dry completely.
Overnight or in the sun for a few hours is best.
Paint!!!
Tips:  Save plastic lids for paint trays, cans for paint brush water cups, & have a spare chair in case yours becomes occupied!

Let paint dry completely.
Now for the magic...soak in warm water for 15 minutes.
Rub off any remaining glue.  Rinse, dry, and...

marvel at your creation!
They soften up nicely after a spin through the washing machine!  Dry them either on the line or in the machine.
